For many years the plastic boot tray is a popular choice for most people in the motorcycle industry. There are some things you have to understand though when choosing a boot tray. While the tray is very inexpensive the actual metal boot does wear out or get destroyed quite quickly. Most people have seen the term "bumpers" on a car and wonder what the big deal is, it is not bumpers but plastic parts that protect the bumpers from damage.
The plastic boot also looks a lot like a regular boot. You can find them in just about every color you can think of, red, white, black, blue, grey, brown and even yellow. Some people just do not care how they look or what kind of color they are. They choose the color and stick to it. When you start looking at them for your bike, you will see that they are all molded differently to fit the way that your bike looks. This means that the style of the plastic boot varies from one manufacturer to another and this will make a huge difference to how much they will cost when you are ready to replace them.
When choosing a plastic boot tray for your bike, you have to know that there are two different types that are made. The first one has the metal top and bottom that protect the bumpers. Then you have the second type that has the plastic side and bottom with an open top and bottom area that support the front and rear bumpers. Both styles of trays come in various sizes and you will want to figure out the amount of space that you have available to put these trays in before you purchase them. Many times they are priced much different from each other so you need to look at the amount of space that you have available for the trays and then figure out what the cost of replacing these trays will be.
